Since 2010, The Education Trust – West has issued annual grades and rankings to California’s largest unified districts based on how well African-American, Latino, and low-income students are faring in those districts. We urge district and community leaders to use these report cards and regional resources to engage in conversations about how low-income students and students of color are faring in their communities and how they can be better served. An explanation of how we arrived at district grades is included in this slide deck, which can be a useful tool to bring to meetings with district and community leaders and other stakeholders.
How does a district compare to others in the same region? Explore the maps below, which include district grades, by year, and each measure of achievement.
